MAKUTANO (Swahili: A place where we all meet)

Makutano is Swahili for ‘a place where we meet’. It is a community-based performance around an international campfire which includes film, music, drama, break-dance, poetry, rap, a few stories, some drumming, the history of the world and a global vision
- all within 90 minutes. Featuring talented young people from Scotland and Tanzania, 
it will explore the ties keep us together and those that keep us apart. It is suitable for all ages.

From Arthur’s Seat to Mount Kilimanjaro – a journey across our planet and a celebration of life and culture.

Global Cabaret                     Tue 17 – Sat 21 June, 9.30pm

Celebrating the traditional and welcoming the new, Global Cabaret is an opportunity to sit back for an hour and travel from Scotland to Africa and back. The cabaret will include Scottish and Tanzanian music, dance, poetry and songs.

From Kilimanjaro to Everest          Sat 21 June, 2

Wilfred Moshi reached the summit of Mount Everest at 9.00am on Saturday 19 May 2012. He is the first Tanzanian to reach the summit. He photographed and filmed his climb and wrote a journal about his experiences. An opportunity to see the Premier of the film ‘Kilimanjaro to Everest’ produced by Wee Films and to hear from Wilfred personally.  An afternoon of interest to climbers and for all those who like a challenge!
